Authors like Jin Yong with novels that would make great TV series?
I LOVE these Jin Yong TV shows the most. For me, these have the best plot and everything (Action, Kung Fu, etc) was really happy with Legend Of Condor Heroes 2017.
Now, my question is, what authors have written novels that's like Jin Yong's work? I don't imagine there are anyone else that can come CLOSE to Jin Yong, but at least somewhat good as Jin Yong, maybe 50-70% of JY's level?
If there are authors like JY, then who are these people? Which TV series are made already from these novels? Which TV series are in the works?
Also, I am kinda surprised the fandom of Jin Yong works in China hasn't gotten to the level that of Star Wars like in America. So many remakes, but there aren't any annual conventions, huge merchandises, or anything like that.

Candle in The Tomb (2017) - Mojin the Lost Legends movie prequel
First time I'm watching 2 series at the same time: CitT and 3L3W.
Two types of works I like seeing: Chinese archeology, anything to do with ROCH, but the production quality has to be good.
I only got 7 episodes left and I only started it last week. Def addicting!
Not watching this for Joe Chen. I care not for familiar faces nor famous ppl, only works with high production values...

Why didn't Xie Xun tell ZWJ about Zhou's treachery after they've recovered?
Xie Xun practically knew about Zhou's treachery from the beginning and I can understand him not wanting to tell ZWJ while they both were recovering. However, one thing doesn't make sense. Why didn't Xie Xun exposed Zhou's treachery after they have completely recovered and gained back their internal strength?

Does everyone hate Audit?
Sorry to be posting this here, this is rather a boring topic that I myself doesn't want to talk about because I hate audits :D but I really need some recommendations since this is a work related question. Preparing for an audit can be very draining but there are automated solutions that can help through the process of managing and tracking the audits. Can we really automate the whole audit process? Is this so called automatic audit management useful and reliable?

DFBB < ROCH Greats Evidence: JY
I have always been debating how good was DFBB? Could he/she be better than ROCH Greats? Better than Xiao Feng? The feats that DFBB accomplished in SPW were insane. However, I think DFBB cannot defeat the Greats, as JY's intention.
I need someone to pull out the exact excerpt, but in SPW, we had LHC and RWX taking on each other in sword skills. LHC's DG9J was winning, but RWX's roar based on internal energy knocked him out. In other words, even in SPW the novel itself, JY wanted to make it clear that internal energy is the most important thing. I always thought SPW was a novel in which JY finally deviated from his "internal energy > all", but apparently this wasn't the case.
In TLBB, XZ and YTZ both went from nobodies to elite fighters after receiving internal boost. There was no mention about MRF's internal, and he was always at the losing end against top tier fighters. You had to have insane amount of internal before you could learn the top skill-6MSJ. The other top skill was an internal energy skill.
In LOCH, the coveted skill was...well, 9Yin, an internal energy skill. OYK wasn't taught the Toad Stance because OYF deemed that OYK lacked sufficient internal energy. We saw how not one, but two Greats, could be "held" by a new rising hero if internal energy are not used. The number 1 declared and continually stayed revered by everyone in the novel, WCY, was known for his XTG, an internal energy skill. GJ saw improvement in his skills by leaps and bound after he understood how to unlock his internal energy.
In ROCH, we have the ice bed, we saw YG focused so much on internal energy. We saw GWM doubled his internal energy.
In HSDS, ZWJ owed his life to an internal energy skill. Also, insufficient internal energy=no QKDNY, the uber hax skill in HSDS (till 9yin). Like LOCH, this novel was centered around an internal energy-9 Yang.
And in all the novels-TLBB, LOCH, ROCH and HSDS, having a lot of internal energy was always a sure way to impress people. For instance, in TLBB, XF was impressed by DY being able to force wine out from his fingertips even without fighting (and XF is not some country bumpkin who gets easily impressed). In HSDS, when ZM brought her army to Wudang, YTZ was overwhelmed by the lackey's internal energy.
So in conclusion, I think JY is pretty clear-internal energy=most important thing.
There might be one small flaw to point out however. FZ was versed in YJJ and RWX could hold his own against FZ. One way to reconcile this was that the YJJ in SPW was not the same as that in TLBB (this is something I think we all agreed, else FZ would easily be number 1, but he wasn't).
The best fighter in SPW, was actually someone with great internal energy-Lin Yuan Tu. Now, we know he was from Shaolin origin and tasked with the job to bring back KHBD. I really don't see Shaolin sending out a weak fighter for such a task, so LYT was definitely a strong fighter, to say the least. I would reckon that he had a good/above base of internal energy, even if it wasn't named (remember, we have no idea what XF has either). So with that and KHBD/BXJF, LYT was able to become the best fighter, created an armed escort agency that was feared.
Now this makes sense too. DFBB himself/herself had a decent internal energy as well. DFBB was number 3 in Sun Moon Cult during RWX's reign. I think it is fair to say DFBB was at least just marginally weaker than XWT (on the basis that RWX taught XWT more). However, DFBB was very ambitious and likely could had been on par with XWT by training even harder.
Point-DFBB was the best in SPW not only because he/she had KHBD-he/she also had a good internal energy base. Any fighter worth his/her salt needs strong internal energy.
Now we compare SPW against the Condor trilogy and/or TLBB. There is zero indication that the internal energy cultivation level was anywhere near that of the trilogy or TLBB.
Conclusion: DFBB won't beat Trilogy Greats.

If you could ask Jinyong one question on any 1 on 1 fight
Let's say you get to ask Jin Yong himself on the result of a 1 on 1 fight between any 2 characters.
He would answer 'truthfully' according to 'canon'. He would give an absolute answer, whether A or B is stronger, or they are equally strong and would both perish in a fight to death. He won't elaborate much but would simply tell you who will win.
There is only one chance...
Which comparison result would you be most interested to know?
Which would be the greatest mystery in JY universe that you would want to "solve"?
1. Sweeper Monk VS Dugu Qiubai?
2. Guo Jing VS Yang Guo?
3. DFBB VS Feng Qing Yang?
4. Zhang San Feng VS Zhang Wu Ji?
Or perhaps a battle to provide a 'link' across novels and resolve all future cross-novel comparisons?
1. DFBB VS Xiao Feng?
2. Guo Jing VS Xiao Feng?
3. Linghu Chong VS Xiao Long Nu?

SPW - SMILING PROUD WANDERER, and SPanner in the Works
Here at SPCNET, we often use "SPW" as a short designation for Jin Yong's story SMILING PROUD WANDERER. I think those same letters, in that order, can also describe the story as a "SPanner in the Works."
For those unfamiliar with the idiom, a spanner in the works is defined by Free Dictionary.com as "something that prevents a plan or activity from succeeding." In other words, a spanner in the works is something disruptive that causes a system to not operate correctly.
In terms of being part of the martial arts mythology of the Jin Yong wuxia universe, SPW (SMILING PROUD WANDERER) is indeed the SPW (spanner in the works) that causes an otherwise mostly sensible system of inter-story martial arts to just completely break down.
Let's imagine that SPW were removed from the Jin Yong canon. If we trace the characterization of martial arts through Jin Yong's major novels in chronological (storywise) order...DGSD, LOCH, ROCH, HSDS, CRIMSON SWORD, DOMD, B&S: G&R, and FFoSM, we see a gradual decline of martial arts ability. This is the so called "Deterioration Theory" that has sometimes been popular among fans.
The peak level of DGSD martial arts (e.g. the levels attained by the Janitor Monk and Hui Juk) are beyond the peak levels attained by the Greats of the CONDOR HEROES TRILOGY, and the CONDOR HEROES TRILOGY's best martial arts tower over those of the Qing Dynasty stories such as DOMD and B&S. Though the discrepancy of martial arts level from novel to novel varies, we can see a logical reverse evolution (devolution?) of martial arts from the Northern Sung Dynasty era of DGSD to the Qing Dynasty-era novels. It works.
But if you throw SPW in there, it REALLY screws things up. It doesn't just screw up the Deterioration Theory, but even just how Jin Yong wuxia martial arts in general work throughout the timeline, from novel to novel. SPW martial arts such as Qwai Fa Bo Deen, Dook Goo 9 Swords, Pik Che Sword Technique, and even the characterization of Shaolin's Yik Gun Ging (which doesn't quite square with its depiction in DGSD) JUST DON'T FIT with the way martial arts are characterized in other parts of the Jin Yong canon. Martial arts in SPW simply behave differently from how they behave in other Jin Yong stories, including even DGSD. It's almost as if SPW doesn't take place in the normal Jin Yong timeline at all, but exists in its own separate, pocket universe/parallel timeline where the rules are different from those of the normal Jin Yong universe where DGSD, the CONDOR HEROES TRILOGY, and the Qing Dynasty novels occur.
Taken on its own terms, SPW is a brilliant wuxia story, but if you try to slot it in comfortably with Jin Yong's other stories in how its martial arts are characterized, it really does throw a spanner in the works.
